Food,
Glorious Food! (Woman’s
Journal, June 9, 2001)
……And what
would make your wedding more memorable than
a sumptuous meal shared by the couple and their
guests?
Swan also has the expertise to handle the catering.
This is where Benjie’s sister Joy Jacinto-Fontanilla,
comes in.
Like the cake design, the menu for the wedding
reception (whether brunch, lunch or dinner)
should be finalized two months before the big
day. Food tasting is usually done two weeks
or a week before the wedding day.
Through the years, Joy has noticed the changing
food preference of Filipin o bridal couples.
In the past, the couples chose Filipino dishes
like kare-kare and the like. Then Western food
became all the rage. Nowadays, the trend is
fusion. Couples order Filipino Food, along with
the Chinese and American dishes.
Although Swan Catering has a prepared package
for weddings, it’s a flexible one and
the couple can ask for menu changes.
“We are known for quality and good food,”
Joy beams.
On top of the fine food, Swan also takes care
of the chairs, tables and the well-trained waiters
for the grand celebration. Thrown in is the
Presidential table décor, an option made
available.
Joy reveals that they now have a reliable pool
of clients. “The parents, who were our
original customers, recommend us to their own
grown children when they get married.”
Swan has mastered the fine art of catering to
such an extent that they can service a big corporate
event of 3,000 guests.
“We can even go as far as 4,000 people.
That’s how organized we are. Catering
is a craft we’ve perfected through the
years.” Daniel Jacinto, another sibling
of Joy and Benjie, avers.
Costings, as expected, depend on the packages
chosen.
